From one of the farthest reaches of Wetzel County, this 1927 Ford Model T pickup truck has been donated to the museum by Folsom native Jack Jones. Jack's father used to drive the pickup from Folsom to Jacksonburg once a year to get an inspection sticker.
This truck has been in Wetzel County for almost 100 years.
Thanks for the generous donation Jack!
Can't wait to get this old girl fired up. Hope to run it in the New Martinsville Christmas parade. I will definitely feel like John Boy Walton.

Busy day. Many visitors and incredible donations today.
Thrilled to receive the old Magnolia football score board. Who wants to come help us figure out how to display this giant piece of local history. This scoreboard dates back to 1991. Lots of great game scores kept on this, including two state championship teams.

When you have possibly the snazziest majorette outfits in the parade, what could you possibly do to get everyone's attention? I know...let's put taps on the bottom of the boots.
We were happy to receive the boots to complete the outfit yesterday. Definitely ties it all together.
Come see us.
We're always looking for volunteers to come help us. Many different diverse jobs for anyone's abilities. From computer input, for cataloging our artifacts, staging displays, labeling displays, researching items and events, to sweeping and cleaning glass windows and displays. There's something for everyone.

Okay Magnolia people, who remembers the Majorettes in their cowboy uniforms in the 1970s/1980s? 1980 graduate Leann Loy Hubbs recently donated her outfit.
It was the perfect opportunity to use one of the newly acquired mannequins. Anyone out there want to come help me with extra accoutrements that came with this outfit? I was too busy putting on pads before football games to see what accessories went with which outfit.
There's also a blue outfit too.
Can anyone educate us on the history of the cowboy uniforms? When did they first appear? When were they retired?

It was exciting to receive word this morning that our lady mannequins were in. The first dress to be put on one of them was this 1920's/1930's era wedding dress in the "Flapper" style, originally worn by Fran Caldwell's mother-in-law.
If you have any wigs, male or female, hanging around your house and you are not using, please keep us in mind. Could also use any old vintage looking shoes. Can't have these guys and gals catching cold this winter.
Please consider volunteering to help out in the museum. We don't want to have all the fun!

A recent donation to the museum. Some of our smallest Wetzel County residents. This collection was created by Bob Byard about 50 years ago. He had it on display at Town and Country Days back in the 1970s. We are glad that Bob brought it to us to display.

What a great turnout this evening!
Pictured are sons Sam and Bill Mullett with artist artist Earl Yost.
Fascinating to read Mr. Mullett's personal log of his days in training before D-day, and later missions. The magic number of missions to get a return home was 32. He also lists how many flak holes his plane received.
We were able to see his medals including the Distinguished Air Cross.

We hope to see you this evening as we honor Mr. George Mullett, WWII Bomber Pilot, who ran two missions on D-day, among many others. He was also a lifelong educator and Principal of Magnolia High School.
