An exhibition of more than 60 new Marvin Espy works, opening in 4 venues on April 5, 2025. New London CT. comes from post-reconstruction era, black culture where losing track of time, or gazing in the wrong direction could cost you your life. Stay Woke was an admonishment to stay alert and aware. It meant, “Come home safe.” It meant you were loved.
