It’s almost hard to believe that these two photos were taken at the Hanover Junction about 150 years apart! If you look closely you can see, what many believe to be, Abraham Lincoln standing center in the top photo! The bottom photo is a recreation with our William H. Simpson #17 Steam Engine taken in 2013!

Here's one of the options for the self guided tours on Wednesday afternoon.

Preservation Pennsylvania joined community members and preservation advocates at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum in York for the unveiling of the restored Modernaire and Lee’s Diner signs. The project celebrates York County's commercial heritage while demonstrating how historic signs and roadside landmarks continue to contribute to community identity and sense of place.

Preservation Pennsylvania served as the fiscal sponsor for the Lincoln Highway Association PA Chapter to raise the funds to restore and reinstall the signs. Special thanks to Tom Davidson for his leadership and for being the driving force behind these projects. Both signs are now owned by the York County History Center. Be sure to stop and see them! ✨
