101-year-old Maine woman may be the oldest person in the world still lobstering

Check out this story! We look forward to screening the documentary, "Conversations with the Lobster Lady," about Virginia Oliver at our Dock-u-mentaries screening on September 17th. More details to come!

Virginia Oliver was born and raised in Rockland. She's been lobstering since she was 8. At 101-years-old, Oliver goes three times a week with her son.

On June 25th, the Center celebrated its 5th Anniversary! We celebrated throughout the weekend with the official grand opening of our new exhibit, "More than a Job," industry demos, kids activities, live music by the Rum Soaked Crookes, and a speaking program by elected officials and a keynote speech from Brian Boyles of Mass Humanities.
