The Cultural Arts Center is proud to announce our next exhibition, Living Impression: Representation and Surface opening Thursday November 5th from 5-7 PM!

This group exhibition, curated by Casey Dressell, features 15 contemporary artists whose practices explore abstraction, process, and material as ways of encountering the world. Engaging with land, nature, and the material environment, these artists translate their encounters into gestures, structures, collections, and visual records. Join us for the Opening Reception to enjoy free refreshments and an Artist Talk from 6-7 PM.

This exhibition features the work of Martin Benson, Karen Boone, Valerie Sullivan Fuchs, Emily Sheehan, Julia Coash, Beverly Glasscock, Brian Harper, Elle Hendrickson, Anne Huntington, Celeste Lewis, Mike Ratterman, Cynthia Woolever Molinari, Ray Kleinhelter, Mary Newton, and Lizzie Gulick

💙 What a wonderful time at Bluey Palooza! 🐾 Thank you to all the families who joined us at the Cultural Arts Center for a day of imaginative play, creativity, and Australian-inspired adventures! From playing Keepy Uppy to making crafts and building forts, we loved seeing everyone learn, play, and make memories together. We had a fun time with Mia the Therapy Dog, who was just as excited to see Bluey and Bingo.

Come Celebrate Dia de los Mu***os at the Cultural Arts Center!
In honor of this Latin-American tradition, we'll be hosting two events featuring artist Diego Bucio centered around a communal ofrenda:

On Tuesday, October 27th, patrons can learn about the significance of ofrenda altars, craft decorations like papel picado and sugar skulls, and bring photos of loved ones for communal storytelling from 4:30-7:00 PM!

Then on Saturday, October 31st we'll unveil an ofrenda constructed by Diego to kick-off a Dia de los Mu***os celebration! Join us from 1-4 PM for authentic music and snacks!

Gain some perspective with our three-part Seeing in Space- The Art of Perspective drawing class!
On Wednesday October 14th, 21st, and 28th, patrons will learn to create the illusion of 3-D space in their drawings from 3:00-5:30 PM. Each week we'll learn new techniques and strategies for drawing with perspective such as horizon lines and vanishing points, and even journey outside the classroom to draw from life! From 5-6:30 PM, the Quartet, Featuring Jamey Aebersold on sax, Wade Honey on piano, Tyrone Wheeler on bass, and Jonathan Higgins on drums, will be playing classic tunes like “Take Five”, “Summertime” and "The Girl from Ipanema", as well as requests from the audience.
