A Civil War-Era Farmhouse
Tours available through the New Albany-Plain Township Historical Society Built in 1860 by George and Christina Ealy.

George Ealy was a member of the second generation of a pioneer family which settled in Plain Township in 1830. He was a prosperous farmer and operator of a sawmill on Rose Run behind the Ealy House. The building is important for its historical associations, transitional architecture, and its fine wood and brick work produced by local craftsmen. SUMMER SUNDAYS AT EALY! The Ealy House Museum will be open every Sunday from 1-4 PM, June through August. Stop by for a tour of this beautiful 1860s farm house, featuring a new exhibit of historic Taylor Family artifacts related to New Albany’s Taylor Farm Park.
