OHIO OPEN DOORS – EALY HOUSE MUSEUM, Sunday, September 13, 1:00-4:00 p.m., 6359 Dublin-Granville Road, New Albany, OH. The New Albany Plain Township Historical Society invites the public to participate in Ohio Open Doors with a special open house at the historic Ealy House Museum. Visitors may tour the Ealy House and view a special exhibit featuring information about the Taylor House, the historic brick home located at the new Taylor Farm Park. Ohio Open Doors is a statewide event sponsored by the Ohio History Connection that encourages local organizations to open historic buildings and landmarks to the public for special tours and programs. Join us in celebrating and preserving the history of New Albany and Plain Township. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Trees Attack! 🌳💥

Last weekend’s storm decided to pick a fight with a local legend—the historic Ealy House (built back in 1860 by George Ealy and now home to the New Albany-Plain Township Historical Society)!

Mother Nature launched a surprise arboreal offensive, bringing down a massive tree that took a direct swipe at the side of the building. While the 160+-year-old brickwork stood its ground like a champion, the deck railing took the brunt of the hit, getting squashed into a pile of splintered white posts.

Fortunately, our local heroes in hi-vis gear were quickly on the scene with chainsaws buzzin', clearing the fallen branches and restoring peace to Resch Park.

The deck might need a little TLC, but the house's history remains untouched! 🧱✨

Stop by for a tour of this beautiful 1860s farm house, featuring a new exhibit of historic Taylor Family artifacts related to New Albany’s Taylor Farm Park.
