Newton County Historical Society and Park The Newton County Historical Society is a Non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Newton County Missouri history and historical items.

A museum, once serving as the jail and sheriff's home, a school house constructed by the Anti-Horse Thief Association before 1896, and a pre-Civil War log cabin reside at the Newton County Historical Complex. Also on the park grounds is a large outdoor pavilion. The Newton County Historical Museum Complex shows a slice of life once common in Newton County and puts the local historical culture on display.
