Doty Cabin

Doty Cabin The Doty Cabin Museum is dedicated to pioneer life in Neenah and Menasha. After his passing, the cabin was bought/sold numerous times.

The museum contains objects from Governor James Duane Doty family, early Native American relics and objects from early settlers. Doty Cabin was built in 1844-1845 by the Second Territorial Governor of Wisconsin, James Duane Doty. In 1923, the cabin was donated by the John Strange family to the City of Neenah. The cabin was moved on logs with a team of oxen to (what is now) Doty Park. In the 1940's

the cabin was in poor repair and was rebuilt by salvaging as much original material as possible. The cabin is a FREE museum to pioneer life in the 1800's. The museum is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC from June 2nd - September 2nd.

Governor Doty arrived to see what we were selling. He left with some Neenah Gazette newspapers from 1877.

Oh, boy! Tomorrow from 8-2 is the Doty Island Rummage Sale. We have so many antiques for you! Such as: Army cots, curtain stretchers, ironing board, travel trunks, sun lamp, lots of tools, chairs and many books.
