Help your community by hanging out in our historical house museum for a few hours this summer!
Over a Century ago, Dr. Carbon Gillaspie proposed to his sweetheart, Grace Fairchild. The discerning lady would agree to marry him only when there was a house for them to live in.
The miners style cabin that Carbon and his friend William Loach, (owner of the Wolftongue Mill) built in 1905 is a fascinating little museum full of interesting artifacts to preserve local history and stories.
Just a few more volunteer docents are needed in order to have full open hours this summer. You don’t need to be a history buff - just be trustworthy, all info needed will be provided! Pm us here or email nederlandhistory at gmail for more info.
