This year, Living History Natchez is bringing history off the page and into the streets for the Spring Tour of Homes. At the Founders homes and at select locations throughout the city, visitors will encounter skilled living historians who transform the tour into a fully immersive experience, offering moments of interpretation, conversation, and connection that place guests directly inside the past.

Stepping into that story is Erik McBroom of Oklahoma City, who is leading the reorganization of the historic Natchez Fencibles, founded in 1824. A fine art and antiques dealer and living historian for more than twenty years, Erik has worked with the History Channel on Texas Rising: Road to the Alamo and portrayed Col. William Barret Travis at the Alamo from 2014 to 2020, participating in ceremonies honoring the famed “Victory or Death” letter. A commander with the OKC Sons of Confederate Veterans and a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and the Sons of the American Revolution, his passion for Natchez history spans from the ancient Natchez people through the French and Spanish colonial eras and into the American antebellum period. History, thoughtfully researched and vividly brought to life.
