Good afternoon everyone,

I am sorry to say that after 12 years of blend studio. We are closing are door at the end of April. I really thought I had at lease 2 more years before I retire but the Arcade had something else in mind. I had such an amazing time in blend and I have met some amazing people. Will be starting the next chapter of my creative life somewhere else and I hope to see all my friends in my journey. Thank you to all of you who has supported blend and it’s mission. Much love to you all.

Join us tonight for Alena Mehic show from 6 to 9.

Alena Mehic was born in Zavidovići, Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1995 and immigrated to Nashville, Tennessee with her family in 1997. She holds her BFA from Middle Tennessee State University and is expecting to graduate with her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2021. Her immigrant background greatly contributes to her body of work, which involves the research of literature, media, architecture and interior design, archives and documentary resources, and the intricacies of political performance. She uses this research to examine the discomfort of cultural displacement as well as the disconnect between nostalgia and contempt within those who lived in Yugoslavia. Most recently, she has been awarded the MFA Fellowship in Painting and Sculpture from the Dedalus Foundation in New York, NY.

Hello everyone. I’m really sorry that I have not posted anything in about 9 months. 2020 has been really rough for everyone including Blend Studio. We are going to try to start moving again around July or August. I want to see all of you again so I want to host a big event in the arcade with all of you in 2021. Send me some ideas. Love you guys and I can’t wait to see all of you.

It was an incredible art crawl night at blend studio with the re-titled artists from Nashville. We have missed all those beautiful faces from Untitled and Plowhaus Artist Co-op.I want to thank all the artists that made the show successful and looking forward to the next time we all get together again. I also want to thank you Spun Counterguy for playing music for us last night. That dude kept me dancing all night.

We are back.

Good afternoon everyone. Blend Studio has been in a seven-month hiatus and we are ready to get back exhibiting local, national, and international artist. We are scheduled through the end of December with mixed media artist, painters, and ceramic artist. We are looking forward to seeing all of you and the great artist in the Arcade downtown Nashville, TN.

Fantastic Coffee Creatures by local Nashville artist Heather Brother McDole will be our first show. It will be in September 7th at 6PM to 9PM. She is exploring the random markings of coffee spills to create creatures that inspire emotion and developing the visual narrative in her practice.

Come join us during the art crawl the artist and I would love to see you.
