TODAY!

It’s a fact that many people today have based their knowledge of Robert Rogers on the early television series, “Northwest Passage” with Keith Larsen and Buddy Ebsen, or on the much different portrayal by Angus Macfadyen in the more recent television series “Turn: Washington’s Spies”. Or both.

But Robert Rogers was quite different from either of those portrayals… more complex, more nuanced, and more interesting.

Author Martin Klotz provides a glimpse into this early American icon in this afternoon’s program at Fort Delaware Museum of Colonial History in Narrowsburg, NY.

The program starts at 4 p.m. in the event tent behind the Fort and opens with an introduction by Sullivan County Historian John Conway. It is FREE and open to the public.

Fort Delaware is located on the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway at 6615 Route 97 in Narrowsburg, NY.

We live history!

Over the past two weekends, Fort Delaware Museum of Colonial History in Narrowsburg, NY has hosted multiple visitors from Europe, including Ireland, England, France, Italy, and Poland, and they were all fascinated by our stories, truly an indication that American history is of interest to all.

We always recommend to all of our visitors that they include the Museum at Bethel Woods in their itinerary.

A number of years ago, The Delaware Company trademarked the concept of Revolution to Revolution to promote Sullivan County’s role in both the American Revolution of the 1770s and the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s, and we continue to firmly believe these bookends can be the linchpin of an ongoing tourism revival here in Sullivan County.

We live history!
