Honored to be recognized as "The Naples 100 Most Influential Business Leaders of 2024" along with my mom Olga Arkhangelskaya.

One of the values we both share is INTEGRITY.

After 24 years in business in Naples, our gallery has earned a reputation for having exciting, uplifting artwork, and top-notch client service.
We hold ourselves to a higher standard and feel that artwork should be beautiful and meaningful, not just decorative. Artists should have an academic education and use professional materials. The messages of the artwork should be positive, uplifting, exciting, thought provoking, and above all - beautiful!

The grace and beauty of birds in flight has inspired a great variety of artistic interpretations but, perhaps none are as unique as those by Quebec artist, Eric Tardif.

His wood sculptures capture the elegant and graceful movements of birds through abstract expressions, but unlike most abstract art, Tardif’s designs draw from a lifetime of close observation.

Eric’s close encounters with birds inspired a creative desire to convey their beauty through art, and to achieve this, Eric adapted an ancient technique to realize his visions - steam bending.

Steam bending is a process in which heat v***r is used to make wood slats pliable for builders. It was originally used to build boats and bows, as it allowed the wood to be shaped into curvaceous structures.

***Magdalena Morey***

Stepping away from the direct representation of the landscape around me, I enjoy looking at the different layers of life and the various threads that weave our stories together.

My work represents an inner journey, one where we visit and revisit ideas and sensations whilst we learn about ourselves as we discover deeper connections to the life around us.

Hayden Wilson's work takes a contemporary spin on traditional Italian glass blowing techniques. Murrine is a technique in which colored glass is layered on itself and pulled into long canes.

These canes are then cut into small slices in cross section revealing the inside colors. These “murrines” are then rolled up into a cylinder to create the initial bubble and then expand when blown into the final piece.

Similarly, the Striated forms are made using straight canes of colored glass that is rolled onto a bubble and then twisted and manipulated to get the undulating striations. Once the piece is finished being shaped in the hotshop it is then carved using diamond wheels once it is cold.

“If Birds Could Talk” exhibit covered by Naples Illustrated!

Artists have long been inspired by birds and their magical ways. Of course, their most distinguishing characteristic is that they can fly. However, if they could talk or write, they might regale us with tales of their travels and adventures.

Perhaps the best interpretation of the beauty of birds—large and small, common and rare—is found within art, whether paintings, prints, or photography. In an exhibition fittingly titled “If Birds Could Talk,” four artists—Oleg Kalaytanov, Lynn Muchnick, Tatiana Rezvaya, and Una Noa—showcase their avian creations at East West Fine Art in Mercato from September 2-16.

Leeza Arkhangelskaya, co-owner of East West Fine Art, reports that a second location of the gallery opened this summer on Fifth Avenue South, proudly stating: “We started our business there in the year 2000, and we return there again.”

Second Gallery Opens at 472 5th Ave S!

After 23 years in Naples, we are thrilled to be back on the street where it all began.

East West Fine Art, originally named Gallery on Fifth first opened its doors on the iconic 5th Avenue in the year 2000.

East West Fine Art downtown is located at 472 5th Ave S. between Café Del Mar and Tulia Restaurant. We are open from 11am-7pm daily and closed on Tuesdays.

We look forward to serving and entertaining our friends in both our Mercato art gallery, and the second location in the heart of downtown Naples.

Paint the Town with JOY!
By North Naples News

We Neapolitans love our town and are proud that it continues to be recognized as the happiest city in America. Naples is growing and becoming more beautiful and sophisticated every year.

It is the perfect time for a biographer to come along, who depicts Naples’s life in the same joyful manner and happy perspective as all the citizens of Naples.

And this biographer has recently arrived – her name is Joy Stanley, and she is an artist.

East West Fine Art presents Naples’s history through the paintings by Joy Stanley. Many people come to the gallery and admire the places of Naples that they love, painted in “whim-storical” manner, as Joy calls it – where history meets whimsy.

Whimstorical (whim-STOR-i-cal)
The re-creation of a well-known building, place, or event which evokes fond memories or happy thoughts!

The delectable Bleu Provence with outstanding cuisine and wine is the perfect place for some girl talk. With its signature blue color palette in décor and cozy atmosphere of a village in the south of France . . . so many good memories to cherish and so many beautiful events to celebrate.

Santé!

Alexei Petruhin devoted himself to plein air painting – the most difficult and the most authentic.

Plein air is often associated with very uncomfortable conditions, but as a reward, the artist receives the most intimate connection with nature, working in the environment, which is impossible to describe or replicate in the studio.

Alexei is the follower of the Russian Realism School of landscape painting. His works are sincere, raw, void of any photographic dryness, rich in color and remarkable in the precision of the moment.

Truly, the nature itself is Alexei’s workshop; he travels extensively, exploring every opportunity that his “workshop” gives him.

That is why his works are different from one another – nature is always changing.

Poet of Light - Laurent Parcelier
May 2023 issue of North Naples News
By Leeza Arkhangelskaya, Owner - East West Fine Art

Laurent Parcelier’s sun-drenched paintings can most eloquently be described as poetry and light.

Whatever setting surrounds Laurent, it offers him the opportunity to turn this light into the main character of his poems on canvas. If you look closely at his paintings with eyes half-closed, you will feel the sparkles surrounding you.

Laurent’s artworks are visions of an earthly paradise where everything is beautiful, orderly, and bathed in a soft glow. His paintings are so full of life that the viewer has only to make up his own story for the illusion to be perfect.

Laurent has two approaches at his disposal to create this modern heaven on earth. He paints under two different names: Laurent Parcelier and Kerdalo. Each style is distinct, yet both employ light and shadow techniques.

Interview with mixed-media artist Victor Colesnicenco in the April 2023 Issue of North Naples News.

Excerpt:
LA: Most of your artworks are paintings of various cities: large and small, American, and European. You make them look warm and cozy and somewhat romantic. Why does this theme attract you?

VC: I am trying to run from reality, chaotic cities, and to make my own imaginary, dream city and romantic place. I am willing to see happiness in my plot staging.

LA: Your paintings are filled with nostalgia for the lifestyle of 50’s and 60’s. What do you like about this era?

VC: I like to be in this time of the 50's, 60's, 70's- it was the most romantic time. I was inspired by watching old movies. I wish I could live in this era, to live a simple life in the renaissance time after the second world war.

Tanya Kirouac was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and spent the early part of her career in art direction and graphic design.

"My inspiration is experiential, derived from my love of the simple beauty that I encounter in everyday life. Collecting images in silence to store in my archives and draw upon during the physical exploration of my work in either encaustic or oil/cold wax.

The painting process involves building up layers, then removing it again, over and over, finally scraping or carving areas of color to reveal the underlying story. The moody, simple landscapes that emerge expose my connection to my environment and history and invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences."

Introducing Tat Georgieva!

Tat creates highly textured, mesmerizing abstract paintings. "Most of my artworks are inspired by Australian nature and its sacred geometry, blue shades of the ocean and amazing greenery of Adelaide hills. They are an echo of the eternal connection of landscape and our human perception.

Bringing joyful colors and organic forms together I create vibrant energy on the canvas, so it transfers in a space where it’s going to live."

Hervé Lenouvel was born and spent his youth in northern France – Brittany, with its harsh weather, cold ocean breeze, and vibrant colors. Living in the countryside Hervé established a spiritual bond with the fields and forests around him. He began painting in his childhood, trying numerous techniques and styles.

Nature of Brittany remains the major source of Lenouvel’s inspiration, the symbol of borderless freedom. During his daily walks he observes and memorizes his own impression of a particular scene, interpreting it into his own colors and shapes affected by the sun, rain, morning, and evening light.

East West Fine Art Showcases Georgy Kurasov Works

From January 3-17, the artist's figurative paintings will be on view in “My Zina! My Muse! My Enigma!” at the company’s new space in Mercato.

A popular annual exhibition is back this month at East West Fine Art. From January 3-17, modern figurative paintings by Georgy Kurasov will be on display at an exhibition called “My Zina! My Muse! My Enigma!” at the company’s new space in Mercato.

Georgy Kurasov is considered an artist of striking individuality in both his thought patterns and his painting and sculpture style. Intricate, sensual, and executed with mathematical precision, his works transport the viewer into his perfect fantasy world. He and his muse, Zina, have never been apart since meeting almost 50 years ago.

Their beautiful love story has lasted for more than a quarter of a century. Georgy is inspired by Zina; he paints only Zina and dedicates his mortal existence and his immortal art solely to her. “He visits the gallery every year with his muse,” says Leeza Arkhangelskaya, co-owner of the family-owned East West Fine Art.
