Painting wet-on-wet, I focus primarily on oils with the occasional use of acrylic gessos. Having no previous painting experience, I was inspired to pick up a brush by watching reruns of Bob Ross. nd that the most rewarding part when painting isn't the final product that is created, rather the joy and peace that is achieved throughout the process. As this is a hobby of mine, I'm not in the market of trying to break the bank charging exorbitant amounts for my pieces. Art is subjective and the value of each piece really is dictated by the viewer, not the creator. To that end, I'm just grateful that anyone would take time to see my work.

I've been looking for a way to display my mini canvases and decided to custom build this display shelf. I'm not that handy and it took me a week to complete, but it turned out fantastic.

The best part is the shelves are removable and it uses no screws or nails. It's held up completely by its own weight. Easy assembly, break down and transport which is exactly what crafters need when showcasing their work at fests.

This piece was done with a partial black and white gesso background with oil paints on top. Aside from the foliage, the main colors used were Indian Yellow, Phthalo Blue, and Titanium White. This piece, along with my other recent paintings, will be available at the Alley Art Festival tomorrow!

My next art fair is less than two weeks away! Alley Art Fest will be taking place Saturday, August 29th in downtown Aurora, IL. This one will be bittersweet. I look forward to this event every year, but this will be the final one 😔... after 16 years, of which HappyScapes Art has been a part of for 5.
