Morgan, a designated National Historic Landmark. Meet blacksmiths, coopers, printers, and carvers hard at work in our recreated 19th-century seafaring village. With 19 acres situated along the Mystic River we offer ample space for kids to play games on the Green, explore the waterfront or put their imagination to work at our playscape! Learn about navigating the stars and planets like ancient way finders at Treworgy Planetuarium. Want to get out on the water? Sit back and relax on a scenic cruise along the Mystic River aboard our launch Liberty or visit our boathouse to rent a row, sail or pedal boat!

Did you know that a ghost ship that vanished 200 years ago has mysteriously returned to Connecticut?

But something went terribly wrong at sea… and the ship was never seen again. Until now.
From chilling encounters to some absolutely incredible performances, the entire experience was filled with mystery and suspense!

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the living cultures, histories, and knowledge of Indigenous communities. Join us at the Museum on October 12 to learn through our garden, historical cooking, and exhibits.

Developed by Lydia Downs in collaboration with the Pequot and Narragansett Tribal Nations, the Three Sisters Garden demonstrates the traditional practice of growing corn, beans, and squash together. It reflects Lydia’s work to share more inclusive histories and build relationships with local communities.

Explore Indigenous planting methods in the garden, see a johnnycake cooking demonstration at Buckingham-Hall House, and pick up a scavenger hunt for “The Sea Connects Us,” a Museum-wide exhibit highlighting the maritime histories of Indigenous and African Americans.

During What Lurks Beneath: GHOST SHIP, stop in for a spell, watch a spooky design come to life on our historic press, and take home your own print.

Explore “Moments of Haunted History” throughout the Seaport Village, from funerary practices and burial at sea to blacksmithing demonstrations, a séance, and fortune telling. Then wander the waterfront, where the ghostly crew of the GRAMPUS awaits with secrets 200 years in the making.

A little steam helps shape a ship. ⚓

At the Henry B. du Pont Preservation Shipyard, our shipwrights are steaming a white oak plank so it can bend to fit the bow of SUSAN CONSTANT. It’s one part of the vessel’s ongoing restoration here at the Museum.
