Join the Melon City Bike Club on the Family Bike Ride, June 28th at 1:00 PM. Ride begins at the Charles & Jean Harper Pavilion on Houser Street, travels to the Friends of the Muscatine Art Center’s Ice Cream Social, and returns to the pavilion.

It’s often claimed that life is no picnic – but today it is! International Picnic Day is a chance to eat out in the open air with friends or family.

Placed conveniently in the middle of June, for many people this means that the weather should be fine and the sun shining (at least in the northern hemisphere).

But even if the weather doesn’t want to cooperate, an inside picnic can be a great substitute. Just spread a blanket out on the floor and enjoy a simple meal!

Step into Summer with the Annual Ice Cream Social! Enjoy live music with the Muscatine Civic Chorale kicking off the event with Patriotic Songs. At 1:45 p.m., the Burlington Street Bluegrass Band will make their debut at the Art Center. Join Chris Foss and the Third Floor Jammers at 3:15 PM.
Meet artists James Walker Henry and Rich Ankeney in the Musser McColm Mansion and view their art. New this year Steve's Petting Zoo in the Cedar Street Parking lot. Purchase some ice cream and pie to support Friends of the Muscatine Art Center, play some games with the family, let the kids get creative in the studio, take in all of the exhibitions, and watch local artist Joe Barnard draw portraits from life.
