Murrysville Historical Preservation Society Providing a better understanding of the rich heritage and unique contributions of Murrysville history The Murrysville Historical and Preservation Society, Inc.
(1)

was formed in April 1987 (chartered November 17, 1987) by Roger T. Reiner, Jackie Wimer, Joan Kearns, Sandy Friesell, and Eric Rodgers. Our founders fought to prevent the demolition of the stately, 170-year old, Bossart House in the Murrysville Town Square; today, this razed historic site is, unfortunately, a parking lot. This new society made it their mission to educate the Murrysville area resid

ents about their rich history. By providing lectures from local historians and authors, and by seeking, refurbishing and preserving historically significant structures, we showcase the uniqueness of the life-style and fortitude of previous Murrysville generations.
