Mountain Home Historical Society The Mountain Home Historical Society focuses on preserving the rich heritage of Mountain Home, ID

Housed in a former 1908 Carnegie Public Library on the National Register of Historic Places. The Mountain Home Historical Museum houses artifacts on mining, agriculture and railroad in the area and celebrates the cultural heritage of the community, including Basque, Chinese and Native American. We feature local family history luncheons on the 1st Thursday of each month.

Visit the Mountain Home Museum during the month of September for our donation-based book sale! All proceeds go towards the Mountain Home Historical Museum, providing additional funding for Museum operations and upkeep.

Books available to purchase will be annual Prophets (yearbooks), a variety of magazines, books about Idaho, and more!

Now available at the Mountain Home Historical Museum are copies of our brand new posters highlighting the days and times our museum is open to the public. This poster was one of six posters originally designed with each one featuring different photos and backgrounds. During their recent visit to the museum, students from Mountain Home High School's American government class were invited to cast their vote on which of these six posters grabbed their attention the most. The one shown here clearly gained the most votes. If you would like to feature one of these posters in your business, please stop by the museum and pick up a copy.
