🚂 Calling all East Broad Top families and descendants!

This year, the East Broad Top Railroad will host a special Descendants Reunion Weekend, June 13 & 14, bringing together the families of the men and women who built, worked on, and supported the railroad throughout its long history.

For generations, the East Broad Top was more than just a railroad; it was a way of life for many families in the region. This reunion weekend will be a chance to reconnect with that history, share stories, and celebrate the people whose hard work helped make the railroad what it is today.

If you have a family connection to the East Broad Top, whether through work on the railroad, the mines, the shops, or the communities that supported it, we would love to hear from you.

*HORSESHOE CURVE VIEWING IS A TICKETED EVENT AND IS ALREADY SOLD OUT*

The Union Pacific Steam Club has announced via their website that the Big Boy, which will roll into town on the evening of July 8, 2026, will have multiple viewing opportunities through July 9-10, before its departure around the Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark on the morning of July 11, 2026.

Pics from today’s work session. George worked on the LaPalace Hotel for Saltillo, Mike refined his General Refractories worker house, Dave shellacked the attic and cellar stairway railings then prepared lighting for the FEBT Reunion next weekend and Charlie continued laying track west of Huntingdon and worked on our new GS-4 Northern locomotive. It will pull our America 250 tribute train this year!

Thursday night pics! George finished the brick siding and started on Saltillo’s LaPalace Hotel windows. Dave worked on Three Springs track preparation. Charlie was busy testing LEDs for a new special locomotive project. Stay tuned!
