My Happy Place 🌊☀️

The beach has always been my happy place. There’s something about walking down a sandy path toward the water, feeling the salt air, and watching the sky light up at the end of the day that makes all the worries and busyness of life seem to melt away.

In this painting, I wanted to capture that sense of peace and anticipation—that moment when you catch your first glimpse of the ocean and know you’ve arrived somewhere special. The vibrant colors reflect the joy, warmth, and freedom I feel whenever I’m near the coast.

This special banquet and auction brings our community together to make a difference far beyond the Lowcountry. Through the generosity of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and bidders, funds raised support international mission partners serving communities around the world with education, healthcare, clean water, and the hope of the Gospel. Welcome to the world, Hugh Locke McNair. 💙

Our hearts are overflowing as we celebrate the arrival of our newest grandson, Hugh. His name carries such special meaning—Hugh is his father’s name and my father’s name, and now a new Hugh has joined our family.

Even sweeter, his big sister Vivian was named after my mother. As I look at these two precious children together, I can’t help but imagine my mom and dad smiling down from heaven. What a gift to have a little Vivian and a little Hugh carrying forward their names and their legacy.

Life has a beautiful way of weaving the generations together. We are so grateful for this precious new life and the joy he has already brought to our family.

Welcome, Hugh. You are deeply loved❤️❤️

“PARTY ON THE HALF SHELL”
There is something timeless about an oyster shell. Shaped by the tides, weathered by the water, and layered with stories of the Lowcountry, each one is a small work of art created by nature.

This large-scale painting celebrates the beauty found in these humble treasures of our coastal landscape. I was drawn to the rich textures, subtle colors, and the way light dances across every curve and ridge. What many see as simple shells, I see as symbols of resilience, history, and home.

Inspired by the waters and marshes that surround us, this piece is a tribute to the beauty that can be found in the everyday moments and natural wonders of the Lowcountry.

What an incredible evening! My heart is overflowing with gratitude after Friday night’s opening reception for Chasing the Light. To see so many friends, family members, fellow artists, collectors, and new faces come out to celebrate was truly a gift.

As an artist, creating in the studio is often a solitary journey, so having the opportunity to share my work and connect with so many wonderful people made the evening especially meaningful. I am deeply thankful for every conversation, every word of encouragement, every hug, and every person who took the time to be there.

A special thank you to those who welcomed my paintings into their homes. Knowing that my work resonates with others is one of the greatest rewards of being an artist.
