At this time we've made the difficult decision to close the McConnell Mansion museum to the public until at least April 6th.

Given that we encourage exploration in the museum, there are numerous touch-points that would need to be sanitized after each visit. Hospital-grade disinfectants are tough on some of those historic surfaces and repeated exposure could do permanent damage. More importantly, our amazing corps of volunteer guides are made up largely of folks from at-risk demographics. We want everyone (and every artifact) to remain safe.

We know the museum is a fun place to bring family and kiddos looking to get a little learning in during this prolonged time of isolation. To that end, if you decide to take a stroll and enjoy some spring sunshine, you might explore one of the historic walking tours available on our website, free of charge.

I love spending time at the McConnell Mansion & Latah County Historical Society with this guy - Dr. Church. Come on by this Saturday, Dec. 14, and enjoy a Victorian Christmas from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and visit Dr. Church and the amazing volunteers and staff of the LCHS.
There will be treats, carolers, crafts and you can do a little holiday shopping at the museum gift store.
