Olivia Times-Journal, Monday, April 7, 1997: Comet Hale-Bopp caught in night sky traveling across the stary night sky in Olivia on the evening of March 25, 1997. Gary Lohmeyer of Olivia captured the comet above the St. Aloysius Catholic Church with 1600 speed film, a 50 mm lens set on 4 stop of 2.8 for 30 seconds on a tripod. What a beautiful sight!
