Eight arms. Zero apologies. It's World Octopus Day.

This one's kind of my holiday. My octopus obsession got out of hand a while ago ā€” now there's a full wall mural, mugs, tote bags, prints, and enough original paintings to make it a whole room. Not mad about it.

So, the thing about having a storefront is that you eventually have to tell people where it is.

Water Plus Ink Studios is officially at 888 Napa Ave in Morro Bay, right next door to the post office and across the street from the dispensary. The mailbox has a starfish on it. You'll know it when you see it.

We've been open since August 1st, and I have been genuinely terrible at making a formal announcement, so here we are. Original watercolor and India ink wildlife art, Creepy Frank and Dr. Brinesprocket books, mugs, water bottles, tote bags, stickers, keychains, and trading cards.

Hours: Mon, Wed through Sun, 10am to 5pm. Closed Tuesdays.

My paintings start with a pencil sketch followed by layers of watercolor until the saturation and tones are where I want themā€¦ and then comes the India Ink. Sometimes I can spend as many hours at this stage as I did in the painting itself.
