“Can See Tomorrow” 11 X 14 oil on linen panel. Available. I love speed goats. They are true Americans. I know we often call them Antelope but that name is not correct. They are Pronghorns. Their markings make them a joy to paint. The name of this painting comes from Native lore that indicates their vision is so good, they can see tomorrow. This buck almost painted itself. I played with thick vs thin paint, warm vs cool and complements of blue and orange. I am very happy with this one.

Falls at Island Lake, Wind Rivers. 11 x 14 oil on linen panel. $1500.00. This lake sits below Titcomb Basin in the Winds. We took the family backpacking there last summer and spent 3 days exploring and fishing. This is such an amazing place. Albert Bierstadt explored and painted here with the Lander expedition in 1859 and Carl Rungius was a frequent visitor in the late 1800’s. I can’t wait to go back!

Note to self…..when setting up a tent at 1 in the morning after a 6 hour drive and you know it is going to rain, don’t choose the low spot! Ugh. Anyway, the crew allowed me to tag along on their after season Westwater run on the Colorado. It was great to spend some river time with and a few of his compadres on a wet and wild adventure. Many thanks to the best guides in Jackson for a fun, safe trip.

Spent Labor Day weekend in Jackson Hole with the boys fishing, hiking and floating the Snake. Also did a little painting. Good times had by all!

Wind River Mountains 2025. We took the clan into Titcomb Basin last week. We hiked somewhere around 37 miles in 4 days, explored, caught some fish, and came out tired. Life is good in the high country! Can’t wait to get back up there.

What a week. First of all, our missionary, made it home safe from 2 years in Mexico. Lots of changes for him including his first nephew. Also, our daughter .skid.mont and her husband both graduated from the John M. Huntsman business school at Utah State University. We have been very blessed.
