Please join us on August 5th for the Montrose County Historical Society’s monthly General Meeting.

Our guest for August will be Ms. Ally Gerken, from the Friends of the Black Canyon organization. Ms. Gerken will discuss the mission and goals of this local group, including recent fundraising and projects helping to restore the South Rim of the Black Canyon after the devastating fire of last year.

What a great adventure to explore a museum from our new museum map. It features the small museums on the western slope. Today’s excursion was to the Hotchkiss- Crawford historical museum. The board members were great at giving me a private tour since they were closed today and I happen to be in the area. Thank you board members for opening up the Museum.

We are grateful for the little things that make everything better. Last week we received a much needed update to our sign on the corner, thanks to Kenn Huff. This week the City of Montrose gave us a new flag for our pole AND installed 7 beautiful concrete parking stops in front of our yard.
