The Susquehanna County Historical Society (SCHS) will present a quilt and textile show “Threads of America’s Past” on October 3rd and 4th from 10-4 at the Society on 18 Monument St., Montrose.

The SCHS has a large collection of quilts made by Susquehanna County women dating from the early 19th century. They include patchwork, red and white, crazy quilts, applique, signature and others. The Society will also display coverlets, blankets and samplers.

The exhibit will be held at 18 Monument St., Montrose. This is a free event. Elevator access is available for those with mobility challenges and may be obtained by request at the desk or by calling 570-278-1622 during the event.

Our friends at the Dennis Farm have a great event this weekend!

Join us on Saturday, August 15th at 1 p.m. at The Dennis Farm in Kingsley, PA for Liberty and Legacy: The Dennis Farm Celebrates America 250.

Enjoy historic period re-enactors, remarks from distinguished guests, musical selections, tours of the Farm, and lite fare and refreshments as we commemorate this historic milestone.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 Blueberry Festival in Montrose, PA supporting the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association! We had a wonderful time meeting many of you at the Historical Society table and in the Museum and sharing stories about our county's history.

Thanks also to the many volunteers who gave countless hours to make the event a success. A special thanks to the Society staff, Friends group and volunteers who helped at our table, in the museum and at the popcorn popper. We couldn't have done it without you!

Stop by for a visit at the Historical Society stand at the Blueberry Festival! We will be on the Green between Ice Cream and Muffins. It's a pretty great location!

We're bringing back popcorn this year. Will there be blueberry popcorn? The chefs are working on it!
