Double Header Weekend! Walkin' History!

Kick off your Saturday with a tour of Montour Falls at 10 AM. Hear about Montour Falls' rich history and timeless charm.

Then head to Kayak Beach in Watkins Glen for the "Seneca Lake: Superhighway" walk at 1:00 PM. Discover how Seneca Lake was our first major highway and what that meant for this community!

Walks happen rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. All are welcome, and walks typically last just over an hour. As always, our Walkin' History! events are FREE and open to everyone.

These events are presented in partnership with the Dutton S. Peterson Library, the Elizabeth Pert Library, the Montour Falls Library, and the Watkins Glen Public Library.

As always, these tours take place rain or shine, so dress accordingly! Please wear comfortable shoes. The walk will last about an hour.

As we continue to honor those who have served the American Dream. The America 250, gives us an opportunity to reflect, remember, observe, and contemplate where we came from, how we came to this point, what we have accomplished and what we need to continue striving for!

On his birthday, we remember George H.W. Bush – United States Navy pilot, Ambassador, C.I.A. Director, 43rd Vice President, 41st President, and father.

The Historic Watkins Glen Walking Tour will answer those and many more questions. Learn how our beautiful village was created and developed over the years. Hear some of the amazing stories that define Watkins Glen, while learning about our architecture and prominent individuals.

Walking Tours begin at the bench entering the Seneca Harbor Pier. Walks happen rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. All are welcome, and walks typically last just over an hour. As always, our Walkin' History! events are FREE and open to everyone.
