Sawmill River Arts is a retail gallery featuring the work of Pioneer Valley painters, potters, fiber artists, and jewelers. Operated by a group of 16 core members as a collaborative, Sawmill River Arts also features the work of other local artists on consignment. Sam Friedland is a tea drinker, experimental musician, and the potter behind Forgotten Brew. Blessed with the gift of ADHD, they utilize tea brewing, drumming, and wheel-throwing as therapeutic practices to calibrate their bodymind to time and space.

Sam makes pots for brewing & serving Chinese tea. They view their ceramic drinkware as instruments: the work isn’t finished until we are all drinking tea together, activating the objects with the collaborative and improvisational music of community. 🎶🫖

Small Works Exhibit and Sale 2026!

SHOW DATES: February 1st - 28th
RECEPTION: February 1st, 1 - 4 PM
APPLICATIONS DUE: January 12 - 23, 2026

This is an open (non-juried) show of original two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual art.

Artist may submit up to 2 works of art and at least one piece from each artist will be exhibited depending on available gallery space. (Maximum size of any dimension is 10” including frame)

We are delighted to welcome Annaleah Moon Gregoire as our guest artist for December & January! .moon.studios

Annaleah Moon Gregoire is a mixed-media artist from South Deerfield, Massachusetts. After graduating with a B.F.A. in sculpture from California College of the Arts in 2021, Annaleah dove into a career as a full-time freelance artist in congruence with teaching art privately and in schools. She also has a small t-shirt company where her illustrations are turned into comfortable streetwear.

Straddling the real and fantastic to explore the beauty in remnants of transformation, come witness for yourself the capacity of Gregoire’s work to transport the viewer! We hope you’ll join us for her reception on
