The Living Dead is a celebration of Zombies in Pop-Culture. Located in historic Monroeville Mall, location of the original film, George A. The themed attraction takes fans through a visual history of zombies in cinema. Displays of props and memorabilia are woven into a presentation featuring interactive experiences and zombie gift shopping.

Joining Living Dead Weekend’s DAWN OF THE DEAD cast reunion is Walt Krayvo! Walt plays the zombie that attacks and bites a chunk out of the neck of Marty Schiff's biker character. Walt appears in several other zombie scenes in the mall in DAWN OF THE DEAD. Walt has many stories to tell of his time on the set as a zombie. He is excited to be a part of the event and will be with on hand all three days, October 16-18, 2026.

Joining Living Dead Weekend’s DAWN OF THE DEAD cast reunion is Kathleen Feeney, the Nun Zombie. In the her scene, the Nun zombie’s habit gets caught in the door to JC Penney and “Fran” frees her. George Romero grew up Catholic and decided he could not, in good conscience, kill a nun in his movie. Kathleen’s nun scene is a fan favorite and is often brought up in discussions of the film.

Kathleen will be appearing all three days,
October 16-17, 2026 in the Monroeville Mall.

Joining our DAWN OF THE DEAD cast reunion at Living Dead Weekend is John Rice. Mr Rice appears in DAWN OF THE DEAD as the SWAT officer seen in the beginning of the movie tenement scenes, who can’t quite handle everything going on, and he decides to end his own life. John was also a member of the crew on DAWN OF THE DEAD and in charge of handling continuity on the film, he was there for every day of its production, and he will no doubt have a lot to say about the film and its creation. In real life John is a director, cinematographer, writer, and teacher, having taught film courses for many years at Pittsburgh’s Point Park University.

After working on DAWN OF THE DEAD, John worked on George Romero’s KNIGHTRIDERS as the Second Camera Assistant and on John Russo’s MIDNIGHT in a bit part and as its Assistant Cinematographer. In the following years he would work much more in film and even worked extensively on the films and documentaries of Tony Buba.

Living Dead Weekend is October 16-18, 2026.

Joining Living Dead Weekend’s DAWN OF THE DEAD cast reunion is Tony Buba. Tony owns the biggest WTF moment in the movie, as he keeps trying to get his blood pressure taken in the middle of the chaos going on in the mall. Tony was also a crew member who worked on the entire DAWN OF THE DEAD shoot, capturing and recording all the sound for the movie.

Tony also worked on George Romero's MARTIN, KNIGHTRIDERS and DAY OF THE DEAD. Tony incorporated his own company “Braddock Films” in 1992, and beyond producing personal work, has been involved in creating award-winning documentaries in the Pittsburgh area all his life. Living Dead Weekend is October 16-18, 2026.

Joining Living Dead Weekend’s DAWN OF THE DEAD reunion is Michael Gornick, cinematographer and post-production supervisor on DAWN OF THE DEAD, DAY OF THE DEAD, MARTIN, CREEPSHOW and KNIGHTRIDERS. Mike has also directed CREEPSHOW 2, as well as TV episodes of TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE, MONSTERS and Stephen King's GOLDEN YEARS. Fans who really want to learn about the production behind many of George Romero films can do no better than the man who has intimate knowledge of every frame shot, Michael Gornick.

Mr. Gornick will be appearing all three days at The Living Dead Weekend, June October 16-18, 2026.

Joining Living Dead Weekend’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD Cast Reunion is “Jack of all trades”, Rick Catizone. You know Rick as master animator and artist from CREEPSHOW, NOTLD, EVIL DEAD 2, and many other projects. Rick created the end credit frame sequence for the credits in NOTLD. Rick is also part of the team that created the zombie sounds in DAWN OF THE DEAD. He will be at LDW all 3 days, October 16-18, 2026.

Michael D. Lies is joining our DAWN OF THE DEAD cast reunion at Living Dead Weekend. Michael had a role in the opening scenes of DAWN, and can be seen in the WGON TV Studio with George, Christine Romero and Gaylen Ross and he also worked behind the scenes of the movie on the extras casting. Michael is also the brother of Leonard A. Lies “The Machete Zombie”. Michael will join us all threes days, October 16-18, 2026.

Joe had two parts in DAWN OF THE DEAD, he was first out the door in the roof top scene, rushing the S.W.A.T team, shooting Tucker in the head, only to get a shotgun blast through the chest from Wooley. Joe can be spotted again later in the movie, as one of the Mall Raiders pick-pocketing a ZOMBIE! Joe loves to meet and greet the zombie fans so come on out to the Monroeville Mall and see him all three days, October 16-18, 2026.

Joining Living Dead Weekend’s DAWN OF THE DEAD Cast Reunion is “Elevator zombie”, Bill Keyes. Bill is part of the scene where Stephen meets his demise after five zombies rush into the elevator and start to bite and tear at his flesh. Bill’s zombie is very noticeable with his big dark mustache and wild dark hair, wearing a suit. He gets shot in the head and his blood splatters all over and inside the elevator doors. Those very elevator doors with his blood splattered on them are a feature in the Living Dead Museum where the elevator was re-created with many of the original elevator’s parts. We are pleased to have Bill with us all three days of the event, October 16-18, 2026.
