We were sadden to hear that Ida Mae Foster, one of our beloved founding members and volunteers passed away on Monday. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was a wealth of information for us here at the museum. We could always count on her. We will miss her dearly.

Good Morning!
We wanted to let our community know we are still alive and well here at the Monroe Museum. Unfourtunatly, we are continuing to stay closed during Covid 19. But, that doesn't mean we are not here to answer questions if you have them.
We are taking this opportunity to do some house cleaning, changing out displays, entering donation data and sorting through old news articles.
So please, let us know if you have questions or anything you might want to donate to the Museum and we will get back to you as fast as we can.

Does anyone know what this donated item is? We don't. Any information or best guesses out there?

Good job Jason Ball! First guess is correct!
The answer to this mystery item is a Baby's Punching Bag crib or playpen toy. "Cradle Bounce" by the brand Right Time Toys, was made to attach to the side of a crib or playpen. Thanks to the Fanger Collection donation.

We had some adorable donations brought in today.
1. A babies wool bathrobe given to Ertis Larkin for the birth of his daughter Ida Mae Foster in 1928, by his friend Bob Kyle.
We also recieved a child's crocheted apron, that was hand crocheted by Vernetta McCallum. Both of these were donated by Ida Mae Foster.
