Wyatt Earp Birthplace, Boyhood Home Wyatt Earp was born in 1848 in Monmouth, IL and lived in this home for a year. This museum tells of the "Life & Legend" of Dep. U.S. Marshal Earp.

The national Board of Trustees operates the museum, open for thirty years. The Wyatt Earp Birthplace was awarded a Governor's Hometown Award, and Is on the Rand McNally map. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and Illinois lists the corporation in good standing. Visitors from over thirty-five foreign countries have registerd.
