Ladew Gardens features 22 acres of award-winning gardens, more than 100 remarkable topiaries. Designed and developed by Harvey S. Open April 1 - October 31.

Ladew Gardens, named “One of the Top 5 Gardens in North America,” deemed “the most outstanding topiary garden in America” by the Garden Club of America, and featured as one of “10 incredible topiary gardens around the world” by Architectural Digest, is located in the Maryland countryside 20 miles north of Baltimore. Ladew (1887-1976), the gardens and historic manor house are known throughout the world. The historic Manor house, built over three centuries, features antiques, artwork and fox-hunting memorabilia. Ladew Topiary Gardens is a non-profit organization whose mission is to maintain and promote the garden, house and facilities in keeping with the creative spirit of Harvey Ladew for the public benefit and for educational, scientific and cultural pursuits. Closed on Wednesdays.

Did you know that Justin Roberts, Walk the Willow, our 2026 Sculptor-in-Residence, is accepting commissions? Justin is a dream-weaver and can create anything you can dream up! Here are just a few of his whimsical creations. If you are interested in having Justin Roberts add a whimsy willow creation to your yard, please contact Rachelle Fowler at [email protected]. Portion of the proceeds to benefit Ladew.

Garden Glow just got a little cozier. 🍂 Independent Brewery is pouring Garden Glow Harvest Ale, a toasty, malty 6.2% ABV brew made with Tettnanger and Saphir hops. Grab a 6 pack at the front circle to enjoy at home, and you can find it at Independent after the event too. 🍺✨

Garden Glow 2026: What to Know Before You Go 🎃

Garden Glow opens TOMORROW! We can’t wait to welcome you to Ladew Gardens. Here’s everything you need to make the most of your evening:

📅 October 14–17 | 5–9 PM
📍 Ladew Topiary Gardens, 3535 Jarrettsville Pike, Monkton, MD
🎟️ Tickets & Check-In: Have your e-ticket or printed barcode ready for fast entry. This event is sold out!
🚗 Parking & Arrival: Parking is on a grass field (handicap parking available on-site). Follow signs and attendants. Gates open at 5 PM so you can watch the gardens come alive with light. If it rains, we recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle to avoid muddy terrain.
🍂 Food & Drink: Local food trucks and vendors will be serving seasonal treats, snacks, and beverages. B**r, w**e, and cocktails available for purchase (21+, valid ID required).
🎨 Artists & Installations: Explore immersive installations that transform familiar spaces into glowing experiences.
🏮 Lantern Parade: New this year! Catch the Lantern Parade each night at 7:15 PM as hand-made lanterns light up the gardens.
🎵 Live Music: Check the full lineup at the link in our bio.
🧤 What to Bring: Comfy walking shoes (paths are lit but may be uneven), layers for cooler evening temps, and a flashlight or phone light for extra visibility.

Join us on Saturday, May 1, 2027, from 8 am to 4 pm for the Mid-Atlantic’s premier plant and garden antiques event. Now in its 19th year, this beloved Ladew tradition brings together 40 exceptional vendors offering rare plants, unique garden décor, and timeless antiques.
