wow. it's a winter wonderland out there right now. i have a favorite way i drive to work, and this is one of my favorite spots on that drive...12th & 12th. ( i also love the symmetry of its location.) it's been pretty awesome (literally) to experience these trees as they change with each season, and come back to what's familiar each year. a good reminder to me that all things have seasons. but i do love a good snowy oak.

last night's creative endeavor ... for winter solstice, the orange pomander symbolizes the sun and its gradual lengthening in our daily lives. our hands were busy as we welcomed our wintering.

i love art that starts a conversation. for me, the conversation is mental health. these mental health awareness pendants do just that. who on your christmas list starts those hard or uncomfortable conversations? this is the gift for them. and 20% or the retail price is donated to National Alliance on Mental Illness. sometimes, it's those little conversations that have a huge impact.
