Switching Tracks
Here’s some great news for the many capital foundation donors and volunteer supporters who’ve worked so hard to keep the Museum of the North Beach going:
On Monday, April 27, 2026, Moclips by the Sea Historical Society signed a contract with our new contractor, R. Johnson Construction to get the New Museum Project on a fast-moving track. We are very excited to have them proceed in constructing our Moclips Depot, to completion.
Reconstructing the Moclips NPRY Depot will be a crowning achievement for the North Beach and Grays Harbor County, and a tourist destination like no other. To continue to have a place for both longtime and former residents to catalogue and share their families’ North Beach experiences, with artifacts, documents, and oral stories is very important.
To help keep this amazing project moving forward, we ask for capital funding assistance, every donation no matter how much goes a long ways. You can send a check made out to MBTS, PO Box 231, Moclips, WA. 98562. Or directly donate to:

All donations are tax deductible.
Moclips-by-the-Sea Historical Society & Museum has been so blessed by all of you through the years and know that you will continue to be a big support!

Moclips-by-the-Sea Historical Society and Museum, a Washington State and Federal 501c(3) non-profit, volunteer run organization, began in 2001. Kelly Calhoun, Kathy Jaquet, and Lee Marriott founded the Historical Society for educational and cultural purposes, including the collection, preservation, and interpretation of artifacts, photos, documents, sites, and buildings relating to the history of Moclips and the North Beach of Grays Harbor County, Washington, from Pt. Brown to the Quinault River.
The Museum of the North Beach continues to entertain hundreds of visitors by giving them a deeper understanding of local history, generating a fascination that brings them back to the Hidden Coast time and time again.
The New Museum Depot Project is noted as a specific goal of the Hidden Coast Scenic Byway Corridor plan, which began in 2008. Scenic byway enhancements require a strong community base, and Moclips-by-the-Sea Historical Society & Museum is in need of your financial support.
The value of working together to preserve local history is priceless!

Dear Rob, Barb, Shari, Sid, and Jess, Moclips by the Sea Historical Society and Museum of the North Beach gives thanks to the Ocean Crest Resort for the many years of generous, loving support. It was on January 19th, 2003, that the Museum had its grand opening; and, if it weren't for the Curtright family donating the use of their building to us, our Museum wouldn't have had a home to grow into what we've become. Your donation of the four parcels of land to build the new museum is unprecedented and shows the Curtright family’s amazing community support.
We continue fulfilling our mission to preserve and share North Beach History, in fond memory of Ocean Crest’s matriarch Barbara Topete who lives in our hearts forever.

Big news here at Ocean Crest Resort. As many of you know the resort has been for sale for some time. As of today it has sold. The new owners are dedicated to keeping the high levels of service and fine dining, as well as updating the property. They have some very exciting changes in store. As for the Curtright family, we want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts. You have made these 68 years so wonderful. We consider so many of you family. We’ve shared many good times together. As well, you all got us through some rough times. We have loved our time with you. Jess will be staying on with the resort as part of the management team. So you’ll still see him and hear his laughter. Join us in welcoming the new owners and showing them that Ocean Crest Resort has the best guests ever.
