Minnehaha Depot Historic Milwaukee Road Depot in the heart of Minnehaha Park, operating as a museum.

Milwaukee Road employees referred to the Minnehaha Depot as the "Princess" because of its delicate gingerbread canopy. The Depot was built in 1875 to replace a smaller station on the first railroad line into the Twin Cities from Chicago

Yesterday was a great opening day at the "Princess"!

We're open again Memorial Day (today) from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

As in past years, today is in memory of my father PFC Harold Novodvorsky - Korea - North Dakota Viking Brigade, National Guard.

In response to the recent rise in COVID-19 transmission in Minnesota driven by the highly-contagious Delta variant, and to help protect the health and safety of our guests and staff, MNHS will require all persons, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a face covering when indoors at MNHS sites and facilities, including our partnership sites, like the Minnehaha Depot, starting tomorrow, Sept. 1, 2021.
Masks will be required inside the Minnehaha "Princess" Depot this coming Sunday (September 5th) and Labor Day (Monday, September 6th). We are not implementing any additional restrictions on occupancy or attendance at this time, nor requiring face coverings outdoors.
We appreciate your cooperation and support.

As on past Memorial Days, today in in honor of my father PFC Harold Novodvorsky, North Dakota National Guard, Viking Brigade, Korea.

While the Minnehaha "Princess" Depot remains closed, please have a safe and peaceful holiday today.

We continue to review our capacity to reopen, so please check back!

All Minnesota Historical Society Historic Sites, Museums, and the Library are closed through June 30, 2020.

The health and safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, interns, and community is our highest priority. In response to ongoing concerns over social distancing in public, we have decided to keep our historic sites and museums closed and cancel all in-person events, field trips, and rentals through June 30.
