8 DAYS AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR! We are getting a lot of great responses to our latest presentation. Fair goers are fascinated with learning about where and how African American settlers landed from farming, to being barbers, hotel owners and many different other professions after arriving in Minnesota.

African Americans have been in the southeast territory of Minnesota since the early 1800s. The State Fair exhibit entitled Early African Americans of Southeast Minnesota Territory illustrates how Black people have contributed significantly to the cultural and social fabric and economic growth of the region for multiple generations.

It Was So “Back to School” at the Fair. The Minnesota State Fair seemed to be only filled with parents and children in wagons. This was Day 3 and again the Fair streets were packed! Others were waiting for the Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam concert to start!
