We’re heading into the last month of open houses, and there’s never been a better time to visit! You won’t want to miss all the ongoing updates and changes to the layout—there’s always something new to see.

Join us this Saturday (21st) and Sunday (22nd) from 1–4 PM for another great weekend at our open house!

Browse a wide selection of new and used model railroading items in all scales—there’s something for everyone.

🚆 Explore the Layout Room
See our impressive 65' x 29' HO scale layout, featuring detailed, well-established scenes plus an exciting large expansion currently underway.

📚 Relax in the Library
Take a break with our collection of books, magazines, and videos (with a video always playing). It’s also a great spot for parents to relax while kids enjoy the Brio trains in the layout room.

📅 Ongoing Schedule
We’re open every Saturday and Sunday through the end of April (except Easter Sunday).

The Newport Model Railroad Club is hosting their flea market and open house this coming weekend. Hope to see you there!

With snow continuing to fall and plowing crews struggling to keep up, we will not be holding our Sunday Open House today.

The safety of our members and guests is our top priority. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you at a future open house!

As a reminder, we are open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4PM, from September through April. We also do "trains after dark" sessions from 4-8PM on the second Saturday of the month, and have monthly ops sessions and youth days. The full calendar is on our website:

The Hennepin Overland currently is open (see operating dates), as we are true train enthusiasts and the trains have to run!

Due to the incoming winter storm, we have decided to cancel the open house for tomorrow, Sunday 12/28/2025. We will not be open in order to keep our members and guests home and safe.

Please stay home and warm everybody!
