Housed in a striking stainless steel and brick building designed by architect Frank Gehry, the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota offers an educational and friendly museum experience. The museum’s collection features early twentieth-century American artists, such as Georgia O’Keeffe and Marsden Hartley, as well as a diverse selection of ceramics and contemporary art. um for the University of Minnesota and the community, the Weisman provides a fresh, engaging arts experience through an array of programs and a changing schedule of exhibitions. WAM is always free and open to the public.

Dr. Akosua Addo recently visited the Weisman with students from MUED 5301 Classroom Music Methods to activate the “Never Spoken Again” exhibition. These types of activations and experiences are what make WAM a uniquely situated site of learning and collaboration at the University of Minnesota. The Weisman brings world-renowned artists and ideas to students and in doing so, our team hopes to offer this place as a space of respite and reflection.

Due to today's winter storm and dangerous travel conditions, the Weisman will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 28.

The museum will then be closed over winter break, reopening to visitors on Wed. Jan. 21, 2026.
