Two Rivers Gallery is an exhibition space for emerging Native American artists located in the Twin Cities metro.

Two Rivers Gallery is an exhibition space focused on featuring local emerging Native artists working in all art forms. The gallery is located at the Minneapolis American Indian Center. It is an active space for the community to build relationships and to collaborate strengthening Native art and artistic voices within the Twin Cities. People are loving the What Could Not Be Erased: Ledger Art exhibition! A big thanks to all our relatives who’ve already stopped by to see the exhibit. 🔥

The work by acclaimed Oglala Artist Joe Pulliam carries a powerful tradition of Lakota storytelling that is rooted in resistance, survival, and cultural continuity.

Joe takes records tied to colonial control and transforms them into powerful expressions of memory, identity, and sovereignty.

Come see Joe’s work while you can. It’s here until October 9.

Bonus: Along with Joe’s original paintings in the gallery, prints are available next door at Woodland Indian Crafts (Charlie’s shop).

On view: July 24 - Oct. 9
Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Born and raised on Pine Ridge Reservation, Joe Pulliam carries forward a powerful tradition of Lakota storytelling through ledger art. His work is rooted in the resistance, survival, and cultural continuity that have shaped Lakota people for generations. Through vibrant drawings on historic and contemporary documents, Pulliam transforms records once tied to colonial control into powerful expressions of Indigenous memory, identity, and sovereignty.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Two Rivers Gallery is located in the Minneapolis American Indian Center.

Meet the new Two Rivers Gallery Manager Alejandro Martinez!

Alejandro (he/him) is an arts organizer with experience developing public art projects and community engagement initiatives. His work centers on creating accessible, collaborative spaces for artists, youth, and community members through storytelling and creative programming.

Stop by the gallery to say hello. We’re open Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

We had a blast making watercolors in our gallery space this week. Wóokiye wiŋ (Katie Bendickson) taught our youth how to make watercolor paint using natural earth pigments and Pipestone powder. 🎨🌿

A special guest -- Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan -- even stopped by and joined in the fun. ❤

We love these opportunities to make art more accessible for our youth, elders, and community. ✨

Thanks to the Boys and Girls Club of MAIC and the Native Youth Arts Collective (NYAC) for partnering!
