On June 11, a crowd of close to fifty learned about the association of Irish mummery with the development of the Molly Maguires in Minersville and Cass Township when Mark Bulik discussed his book, “The Sons of Molly Maguire: The Irish Roots of America’s First Labor War.” Attendees learned about the strange association, both in Ireland and in the United States, between mummers’ mocking antics and the Molly Maguires’ more serious activities against wealthy landowners in Ireland and wealthy mine owners in the U.S. Thank you to Mark Bulik for delivering such an interesting program and to all who came out to hear him.

Come find some history gold at the end of the rainbow at the Valley Road Venue when Mark Bulik discusses his book, "Sons of Molly Maguire," and how the Minersville area gave the Mollies their start. You don't want to miss this chance to chat with the author whose family lived in Cass Township for generations and who is filled to the brim with stories about the Irish in the area and about Irish Americans in general.

Thank you to Jim Droskinis for coming all the way from Georgia to give a lively, fascinating presentation on his life “From Minersville to Baghdad” and on the Cass Township 1957 Football Team's perfect season. Thank you, too, to the many who came out to hear Jim, get one of his autographed books “UNDEFEATED UNTIED UNSCORED UPON,” possibly win a trivia or door prize, and meet four 1957 Cass team members! It was a fabulous night!
