Come for a visit, join a tour and learn all about us. The Mimbres Culture Heritage Site, run by the Imogen F. Wilson Education Foundation and located on HWY 35, just past the Mimbres Café on Sage Drive or between mile markers 3 and 4, is the only interpretive Mimbres site open to the public year round. We are non-profit, 501c3, and now have volunteers in the museum and historic Wood House during w

eekends. This site has an interpretive trail, always open, which educates visitors about the ancient Mimbres peoples who lived along the river. In the museum, open Saturday and Sunday, there is additional information about the Mimbres Puebloans, the Apache, the homesteaders, miners and current valley living. Our open hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 11-3. We are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Years unless prior arrangements have been made. Guided tours may be arranged for schools, groups, interested parties and individuals by calling 575.536.3333 at least a week in advance. Your support is much appreciated in order to maintain and improve this educational historic site.

The Imogen F Wilson Education Foundation is going to begin historic structure stabilization and outbuilding restoration in the new year. The old garage and back outbuildings have seen better days and now are going to get a bit of a facelift. We are in need of materials if you have some laying around and would donate. Old boards - ours are splitting and dry - old nails, concrete mix, corrugated sheet metal with no holes and old bricks or stepping stones. If you are willing to donate, these items can be dropped off in back of the museum near the old chicken coops. If you need help to pick up the materials, please call 575.536.3333 and leave us a detailed message. We will return your call as soon as we can. Thank you for helping us out. If we can save a few dollars here and there, we can use them for other important items.

The volunteers at MCHS want to thank all the community members who donated items for our annual Yard Sale. The proceeds from the sales will help pay our bills this winter.
And thank you to all the people who stopped and purchased items from the yard sale. WE sure had a large variety of nice goods. Hope to see you again next year!
