Established in 1988, the Tory Folliard Gallery is Wisconsin’s leading gallery in contemporary art. The gallery specializes in the exhibit and sale of emerging and established artists, with an emphasis on Midwest artists. Focusing on traditional media and content, the Gallery presents in-depth exhibitions in its large warehouse space that is located in the Historic Third Ward of downtown Milwaukee.

Exhibitions change on a monthly basis with solo shows in the main spaces and smaller shows in the adjoining galleries.The Gallery has a reputation for excellence that it continues to earn by providing a high level of service to its clients.

“Eventide at the Duchess’s” by John Wilde (1919-2006) on view at Tory Folliard Gallery. One of Wilde's last paintings completed in 2005, Wilde revisits imagery from his earlier works, offering a career retrospective within a single composition. “The Magic Realism of John Wilde” features paintings and drawings spanning the Wisconsin artist’s remarkable sixty year career. Wilde was a close friend of Gertrude Abercrombie, and together they became leading figures in American Surrealism. Wilde was at times inspired by Abercrombie’s imagery, particularly her use of stark trees and isolated buildings, motifs that subtly appear throughout his work.
