✨ Upcoming Wright Design Series Event ✨
Monona Terrace is hosting a talk that explores a pivotal moment in the renewed public interest in Frank Lloyd Wright during the late 1980s and early 1990s. It’s a great opportunity for anyone curious about how Wright’s legacy was reexamined and revitalized during that period.
📅 The Wright Revival: Madison’s Rediscovery of Frank Lloyd Wright
Thursday, April 9 | 6 PM CT
Presented by Anna Andrzejewski, Frank Lloyd Wright Professor of Modern American Architecture (UW–Madison)
The lecture looks at three major developments that shaped this resurgence:
• the Elvehjem Museum’s 1988 exhibition on Wright and Madison
• the long‑awaited approval to construct Monona Terrace
• the creation of Taliesin Preservation in Spring Green
Drawing on archival materials, interviews, and contemporary news coverage, Andrzejewski traces the people, institutions, and cultural forces that helped bring Wright back into public focus decades after his death.
