PUMPKIN PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP ALERT!

Get into the spooky spirit and learn the art of block printing by creating your own custom pumpkin inspired art prints!

There is nothing quite like the satisfying feeling of carving your own design and seeing it come to life in ink. In this festive, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the step-by-step process of relief printmaking with a seasonal twist. Guided by South Jersey artist & designer Zack Carr, we will transform classic jack-o'-lanterns, eerie silhouettes, or cozy autumn motifs into stunning, handmade art.

Whether you want to print a hauntingly beautiful piece to frame, create custom Halloween greeting cards, or just enjoy a creative afternoon with a touch of autumn magic, this class is designed for all skill levels—no prior experience required!

SIGN UP HERE: https://www.dcgallerystudio.com/artworkshops

What You’ll Learn & Do:
• Spooky Concept & Design: Learn how to think in "positive and negative space" to design a striking pumpkin or Halloween motif and safely transfer it to your block.
• The Art of the Carve: Master the use of linocut gouges to carve out details, textures, and glowing jack-o'-lantern grins.
• Inking & Printing: Roll out rich, vibrant inks (think classic pumpkin oranges, deep midnight blacks, and autumnal hues) and learn hand-burnishing techniques to press your design.
• Take Home the Magic: Leave with your reusable, custom-carved linoleum block and a unique patch of hand-printed artwork to display just in time for Halloween.

Workshop Details:
• Date & Time: Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 12-2pm
• Location: DC Gallery & Studio / 508 N. High St. Millville, NJ 08332
• Experience Level: All ages & experience levels welcome! We’ll provide plenty of pumpkin and Halloween-themed templates to help spark your inspiration.
• Investment: $25 (All materials, carving tools, premium paper, and a few festive seasonal treats are included).

RESERVE YOUR SPOT: https://www.dcgallerystudio.com/artworkshops

Spaces are limited to 20 ghouls and goblins to ensure plenty of individual workspace and safe tool instruction.

Introducing EFFECT OF ENTROPY exhibiting artist SARAH BALOUGH

SARAH BALOUGH is a visual artist and arts educator based in Arlington, Virginia. Her mixed-media practice investigates the complexities of the female figure through the lenses of narrative, material exploration, and embodied movement. Integrating paint, textiles, recycled materials, and collage, BALOUGH constructs layered compositions that explore themes of autonomy, identity, and the cultural perception of female rage—most notably through the reclamation of the term catfight.

SARAH BALOUGH holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her work is informed by personal experience, art historical references, and collective memory, resulting in allegorical worlds that examine both intimate and universal dimensions of the female experience.

DC Gallery & Studio is thrilled to welcome large-scale, mixed media collages by SARAH BALOUGH in our brand-new exhibition, EFFECT OF ENTROPY.

Join us for the EFFECT OF ENTROPY Opening Reception on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6-8pm at DC Gallery & Studio.
