Doris McClelland Stull

One of our founding members passed last Sunday at 102 year old. Doris McClelland-Stull. I had the honor to be on the board with Doris and learned to play the piano from her. She was an avid supporter and one of the original team that restored the Victorian House in the 70's . She left the area 19 years ago but she will forever be remembered as one of the most active supporters of the society. Here is the link to her obituary in todays paper. https://www.the-daily-record.com/obituaries/20190706/doris-mcclelland-stull. Your long life on this earth helped make what the society is today. Rest in peace Doris. Your historical society family .

THANK YOU! There are so many to thank for making the 1969 flood program a HUGE success today at the Duncan Theater. The theater was packed with people willing to share their stories of the flood. Thanks to the Duncan Theater, Killbuck Valley Museum staff and the historical society program committee for all their hard work to make this happen. A special thanks to Mary Tipton for putting together a fantastic power point program that everyone was commenting about. Other committee members Paul, Patty, Melissa, Debbie, Margi and Dee Ann your help is most appreciated. Finally thanks to all of you that shared your personal stories. Some sad, some funny and many inspirational.

Another rare photo - Does anyone know where this location is for a brick yard in Millersburg? Let's see what people come up with and then we will reveal where it was. We know the answer here at the society. This photo was just given to us by the owner of the property where it was located. Hint - At least you can tell from photo caption what street it was on.

Rare Photo - OK put on your thinking caps. This photo was donated today and is an early tintype probably taken around late 1860's to 1870's. The photo is from the area cause it was in an old family album. It appears to be a clothing store. Any ideas where it is or what store it is. Notice the house in the distance too.

Wonderful networking at the Volunteer luncheon today. Volunteers enjoyed a wonderful catered meal by Exclusively Yours. Our "Volunteer of the Year" Debbie Kline Weaver was not able to attend but she was praised by many that work with her plus her gift from the society was a #60 cement statue of Big Foot. She will be presented everything upon her recovery. THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteer staff.

Today a wonderful "gathering" to celebrate our volunteer Nita Packe was held in Nashville. I thought I would share the note that was written in the program that sums it up so nice. - Mark

Dear Kindred Spirits
I deeply appreciate your cards, wishes, and gathering for our celebration of Nita's life, and please know that her living spirit has and will continue to be with us all as we go onward with ours. She enjoyed nature and all God's works and had great fun sharing these feelings in teaching her favorite subject, 7th grade life sciences, growing all her flower gardens, play with and cuddling our dogs, traveling all over Ohio to visit our magnificent historical and natural sites, having our wonderful farmland and most of all, in the many , many friends we have made over the years.
Thank you for being a part of her life and mine.
All our love,
Don (&Nita)
