A spider wasp was spotted in the arboretum, dragging its victim.

Adult wasps cannot digest solid food, and live off of nectar, but their larvae have a never ending appetite for “meat!” So, mom and dad go off hunting and bring back insects to feed their larvae.

Spider wasps paralyze the spiders with their stinger, but this doesn’t kill it. They then drag the immobilized victim to the burrow where their single larvae waits to devour the spider alive!
