Dorchester Academy Historic Dorchester Academy is a historic African American educational institution that now serves as a Community Center and Civil Rights Museum. Rev.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King and SCLC operationalized the Citizenship Education Program at this site. Dorchester Academy played a Major role in the National Civil Rights Movement and in the Educational, Business, Social and Political Development of the African American Community in Liberty County, Georgia.
