Artfully Yours 95 Studio Open to the public First Friday and Second Look Saturday. Regularly scheduled classes on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Through my art and Creative Unwind classes, I hope to inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, and remind others that there’s joy in letting go of perfection, embracing the unexpected, and simply creating.

🍂 A Little Change of Plans for Creative Unwind 🎨

Sometimes we need to give ourselves a little extra time to rest and recharge, and that’s what I’ll be doing this month. Unfortunately, I need to cancel our October Creative Unwind class.

But the good news is that we’ll be back together soon! ❤️

✨ Mark your calendars for November 10th at 6 PM! ✨

We’ll gather again to unwind, get our hands messy, explore our creativity, and enjoy an evening of making art together. There’s something special about setting aside time to create, connect, and let the rest of the world fade away for a little while.

I hope you’ll join me! Keep an eye out for more details about our November project, and let’s make it a wonderful evening. 🖌️💛

Thank you for understanding, and I can’t wait to create with you again!

I recently picked up a June 8, 1962, issue of LIFE magazine, drawn in by the promise of color photographs of space. I love incorporating space imagery into my surreal collages, so it seemed like a natural addition to my collection.

What I didn’t expect to find was inspiration in three completely different pages: an advertisement for Gallo w**e, an ad for a Wizard freezer, and a painting by New York artist Fairfield Porter.

Three very different subjects, yet the colors were remarkably similar. There was something about that particular palette that spoke to me. I found myself drawn in, lingering over the pages, and feeling a sense of nostalgia for a time ten years before I was even born.

Isn’t it fascinating how color can evoke a feeling, stir a memory, or create a sense of longing for a time we never knew?

Do you ever find yourself in a color rut? When that happens, try wandering through the pages of old magazines or exploring artwork from another era. Look beyond the familiar and the famous. Pay attention to the colors that catch your eye, the combinations that surprise you, and the feelings they stir.

Sometimes inspiration isn’t about finding something new. It’s about seeing something old with fresh eyes.

Let yourself linger. Let yourself feel the colors. You never know where they might take you. 🎨

I recently ordered a couple of back issues of Somerset Studio and discovered two Stampington magazines that were new to me: Art Journaling and Belle Armoire Jewelry. 😍

I love Stampington’s magazines. They’re just so yummy to sit down with, flip through, and glean ideas from. Yes, the internet is free and full of inspiration, but I still love paper! 📚❤️

And when I’ve perused them to my heart’s content, they can become collage fodder. Win-win!

So tell me… are you strictly digital, or do you still love books and magazines for inspiration and reference?

Okay… maybe I am a little addicted. 😂

Not to perfection. Not to knowing exactly what I’m doing.

I’m addicted to that feeling when an idea starts taking shape and a blank page becomes something that didn’t exist before.

That’s why I create. 🎨✨

What’s your why?
