It’s been a good day at The Railroad Museum. Our tourists are returning after the super hot summer. We are very thankful. A reunion of cousins visiting Meridian for a family reunion stopped by as they waited to board Amtrak headed home to Atlanta.

It is with a sad heart that we at Meridian Railroad Museum announce the death of our dear friend and museum supporter, Elwin Pickens, affectionately known as Slim. He was originally employed by the REA Building in Meridian until it closed in 1974. Slim was someone who could be counted on and always arrived with natural grace and a huge smile upon his face. Farewell our friend, until we meet again.
