Eight schools, three colleges and universities, one statewide festival, and more than 850 people.
That's what happened when Mississippi native and graphic novelist John Jennings spent a week with us. We're still thinking about the conversations: how visual literacy works, how we imagine better futures, and why diverse voices matter in literature and graphic novels.
Nearly a dozen stops, including the worldwide launch of "Framing Emmett Till: Exposing Dark Fear" at the Mississippi Book Festival, and a free documentary screening and Q&A at The MAX with the Mississippi Film Society. In classrooms and lecture halls across the state, John showed students that a creative career is something they can build.
If you haven't yet, come see "John Jennings: Build Your World" at The MAX. You'll find original artwork, sketches, and hands-on activities that show how ideas become worlds, and perhaps get you started building your own.
